c.1950 Lindstrom, No. 55 Skeeter Duck in Original Box

Colorful steel litho mechanical spring wind-up Skeeter Duck complete with original box. "Skeeter" refers to the rapid unpredictable movement experienced during clay pigeon skeet shooting. Skeet can go in any direction. Likewise this toy was designed with a pair of rear wheels which randomly change the left and right direction of the toy. It has an on/off brake switch located on the front underside of the body.

The toy is all solid plate steel litho with tabbed underbelly. The head and neck bobs on a central axle making its movement seem more haphazard. The separately tabbed tail was inconceivably designed with two sharp points protruding from the front. Typically when this toy is found the tail has been removed for that reason. It comes with an old key which may, or may not, be original.

The simple color illustrated box shows the duck on every panel and endflap along with some rather "exaggerated" claims.
